Where Are You Going?

Sometimes it is our destinations that separate us. All of us have our individual planning for life that takes us to different places. Therefore irrespective of the relationships between us, it will not be possible for everyone to stay together forever.

Your license to work

Degrees and certificates are your license to work. The conventional system does not count experience on top of academic credentials and hence no matter how smart you are at work, it will be difficult for you to apply for a promotion or new job without academic ‘qualification’. So, you have to go back to the universities and apply for a course that is relevant to your career. As the universities do not have direct interaction with the industries therefore most of the time what you learn doesn’t fit relevant at your workplace. So you have to re-learn everything as per the need of the hour to keep yourself abreast with the changing times.

Life starts at 31

I feel good moving around places and meeting with people of various cultures. I never thought of my career in advance and hence am into something that nobody plans in advance. We undertake projects of various Government and Semi-Government organizations in India which require extensive travelling throughout the country and need computers for data processing. I have 6 years and 11 months work experience out of which I have been into IT operations for a period of 4 years and 4 months. The last 10 years has taught me a lot on what life is and how to deal with practical situations. The coming years will be more challenging and I will have to concentrate on my career on top of everything else.

A few months at Bihar

We have worked for RSBY Project in 6 Blocks of Nalanda District (Rahui, Chandi, Asthawan, Noorsarai, Nagarnausa & Karaiparsurai) and 4 Blocks of Patna District (Phulwari, Ghoswari, Bakhtiyarpur & Dhaniyawan) and delivered around 65000 RSBY smart cards to the beneficiaries. We had to coordinate between the BDO and CDPO offices of each Block to complete the project successfully. People in the villages of Bihar are simpleminded and lead life happily dealing with odd circumstances. Development can happen here very fast with cooperation from the people and if properly taken care of by the authorities. People here are hardworking, straightforward and honest from heart. Proper planning can change everything and help the State proudly contribute in the progress of the country.

Understanding the systems and the value of everything

Whatever we do or wherever we are, we are into a system or a mix of systems that we need to understand very well before we can move forward. Nothing can run smoothly without a system and our society and the world where we live in is the result of a blend of natural and artificial systems. Every project needs a system to be completed on time and successfully. Our education system, employment system and social systems have their wide coverage and has to be seriously taken and worked upon for our own benefit.

On the other hand, finance is something that has to be dealt with throughout our life for our survival. Everything has its own value with respect to time and place according to which the price is fixed and the very conception of measuring the same is important for a happy life.

Planning should be practical oriented

It is not like you start dreaming of anything and start imposing your dream into reality. Planning needs practical experience of what is possible and how; only then it can be materialized.

Life is an experiment

I don’t have any specific plan regarding career or family and would like to experiment with life at the fullest. What I have learned from life is to be satisfied with whatever I have and have a proper financial planning to survive. The rest is a matter of time and luck.

Leaving Kolkata soon

34th National Games has been postponed due to delay in completing the infrastructure and our Kolkata team is back home preparing for the RSBY project. I will be moving for Patna and Nalanda districts within a week and will be gradually covering other districts/ states as well. This is a long-term project and it will be good enough to work for the underprivileged by using technology to prepare smart cards for health insurance.

Xplore-Tech to 34th National Games 2009

I have worked with a BPO, Xplore-Tech Services Pvt. Ltd., at Kolkata during the period October 2008 to December 2008 in the MIS Department and found the work to be very interesting and somehow familiar to my previous job at Sabera Foundation in the Communications Department. However it was difficult to apply any long term planning regarding career growth considering the organizational structure therein which led me to move for the 34th National Games to be hosted at Ranchi, Jharkhand. Our team is here to prepare the Accreditation Cards for the players, authorities and personnel involved with the project. More than 90 staff are supposed to be involved in preparing the cards and we may have to move between Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur. Currently the required training program is being conducted at the National Games Organising Committee office at Ranchi and the work is supposed to start within a week. The games are supposed to be conducted from 15th to 28th February, 2009 and all the preparations are under process.
